What a sports year it has been for Chipola athletics. Two national champions as the softball team and baseball team claimed crowns in the month of May. Back in March the mens basketball team finished as the National runner-up while the Lady hoopsters finished the campaign fifth in the country.

Congratulations to all the head coaches and their staff. I have been asked recently on a Dothan based radio talk show why Chipola is so successful My response was the community support, fan base, the family atmosphere and that most all of us are Chipola grads (me included 1981). Another big reason is top shelf coaching and great athletes who see Chipola as a great place to get a education and play at the next level. One has only to look at the NCAA and the Major Leagues to see our folks excelling. DSSB has been busy this year as well covering over 100 events. We are getting our batteries recharged this summer as we look forward to the Fall and middle and hight school football. I would like to thank all of our broadcasters for a job well done.
